from a childhood box of 1981 topps to a lifelong pursuit of greatness
Founder’s note:
My collecting journey began at age 10 when my mother handed me my first pack of 1981 Topps and said, “Every man needs a hobby.” What started as a childhood pastime quickly became a lifelong passion for the history, stories, and greatness captured within a single card.
Over the decades, collecting became more than acquiring cardboard—it became a pursuit of excellence. I was drawn to the legends who defined the game, none more than Willie Mays. His iconic catch in deep center field remains one of baseball’s most enduring moments and inspired the name of our company: The Catch Cards Company.
